Biosafety Level 2

Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) accreditation shows that our lab is equipped and prepared to work with samples which may contain pathogens that pose moderate hazards to people and the environment. All of our staff are trained on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe sample manipulations, and level 2 areas are for qualified and authorized persons only. This ensures the highest level of safety and prevents cross contamination of samples.

In order to be accredited by The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM), our lab passed a comprehensive review of the facility and our quality management system. Further, to guarantee our ongoing commitment to quality, accuracy, and impariality, routine audits by the Manitoba Quality Assurance Program (MANQAP) are performed. This special accreditation allows us to perform covid-19 diagnostic tests on more than 100,000 human samples.

By licensing with Health Canada, we are legally authorized to perform analytical testing of cannabis under the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations. Currently any involvement with the cannabis industry is done through our sister company, BioscisionLabs. More information on our cannabis testing lab can be found here.
